![]() It allows you to modify a limited number of settings per synth modules using the on keyboard knobbers and sliders. I have an Arturia Keylab essential 61 which came with a cut down version of Arturia V called Analog Lab. But, it has a unique sound, some really neat presets, and I found mine for a Benjamin. AudioPilz did an episode of BadGear on it, and rightfully called it the world's largest soft synth dongle. If you want to do anything major with this thing besides tweek the filter cutoff on a present, you must use the program that came with it, (or a 3rd party programmer which name eludes me) to access the higher functionality. Unfortunately, the rows of functions are unreadable because they used light gray ink on polished white plastic, and dark gray lines. An extremely powerful 12 voice Virtual Analog, 4 part multitimbre, that has 4 knobs and a button, with a pair of up/down buttons next to it to access the "most common settings." Each of those knobs can be one of 8 controls, depending on which function row you have selected. With this, it's much easier to have the plugin running on an iPad next to the knobbers to see what's going on. On a straight analog synth, or a digital synth with true knob per function settings, you can glance at the knobs or sliders and see where you're at. The disadvantage here is actually directly from it's biggest advantage: endless encoders. Additionally, the plugin app expands that functionality greatly, plus, you can save patches to memory, and offload them to a computer or tablet. The Argon8x is mostly knob per function, but there's a shift functions and most knobs have 2 or 3 functions you can access here. If you want to "save a patch," you are best served with a camera, because it's literally 1 knob per function plus the semi modular patch bay. ![]() The neutron is as analog as it gets, and semi modular. The easiest example I can come up with from personal experience comes from 3 synths I own Behringer Neutron, Modal Argon8x, and M-audio Venom(lmao).
